Zack Harper Obituary

Zack Lee Harper, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Jeffersonville to the late Lerrie C. and Kathleen Harper, Zack lived a life marked by deep devotion to his family, to his work, and to the simple joys that made life meaningful. A proud son of Southern Indiana, Zack grew into a man known for his incredible work ethic, unwavering integrity, and his passion for classic cars. His expertise and lifelong love for automobiles guided his career as a respected automotive appraiser, where he built not only a legacy of knowledge but a reputation of trust and fairness among colleagues and clients alike.

More than anything, Zack will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. He shared 61 beautiful years of marriage with his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Sandy F. Harper. Together, they built a home that was always warm with laughter, filled with stories, and strengthened by faith and family.

Zack was preceded in death by his beloved son, Scott Harper. While that loss was profound, his strength and grace in honoring Scott’s memory were a testament to the depth of his character and love.

Left to carry on his legacy are his wife, Sandy Harper; sons, Brad Harper (Elizabeth) and Terry Harper (Cristie); grandchildren, Zach Harper, Erin Hilburn (Jordan), Tiphany Harper, Morgan Wisecarver (Bret), Madison Harper, Brett Harper, Sydney Harper, and Caroline Harper; and great-grandchildren, Luke, Karley, Asher, Benson, Georgia, and Ava. Zack's presence in their lives was a guiding light, and his wisdom, warmth, and steady hand will be deeply missed. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will remember his easy smile, generous heart, and that unmistakable gleam in his eye when talking cars.

A memorial visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2025, at Wall Street United Methodist Church.
