William R. Dunn, 69, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on January 31, 2026, in his hometown of Louisville. He was born on April 26, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Lottie and Emery Dunn.
William proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged after being stationed in Germany. He carried great pride in his service and the experiences it gave him.
In his quieter moments, William found joy in the simple things—watching Westerns and karate movies on television and spending time sitting on his front porch. He was a familiar and comforting presence to many, always content to enjoy life at his own pace. His loyal dog, Ju, was rarely far from his side.
William is survived by his loving children: William R. Dunn, Jr. (Lorie), Christopher Dunn (Crystal), and Bruce Dunn (Michelle); his cherished grandchildren: Ashley Dunn (Jason), Cody Dunn, Kaelin Dunn (Matt), Christopher Dunn, Jr. (Dayna), Chelsie Dunn and Lindsey Dunn; and his great-grandchildren, Lucas Ray and Lainey Beth. He is also survived by his brother, J. R. Dunn; his sisters, Gloria and Annette; several nieces and nephews; extended family members; and many friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Georgia “Pinkey” Summitt; his parents, Lottie and Emery Dunn; his sisters, Pat, Donna, Mary Lou, and Betty; his brother, Freddy Dunn; and his great-grandchild, Snow.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Legacy Funeral Center – Schoppenhorst Chapel, located at 1832 West Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40203. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
