Wilford Ivan Stackhouse, 84, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on December 5, 1937, to the late Herschel Ivan and Sylvia Williams Stackhouse in Louisville, Kentucky. Wilford was a graduate of Male High School and the University of Louisville. He was a hard, and dedicated worker. He taught History and Social Studies at Western and Manly Junior High Schools in Louisville, Kentucky, and was the owner operator of Roggencamp Barber Shop for many years. Wilford was also active for many years in Boy Scouts, proudly obtaining the God and Country Award as a young Scout, and he also served as a Scout leader as an adult. He is a former member of Third Avenue Baptist, Brookview Baptist, and presently, Foster Avenue Baptist churches. Wilford filled many rolls with the church, including, Sunday School teacher, Choir member, and Choir Director. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Wilford is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Sylvia Stackhouse.
Left to cherish his memory, Wilford is survived by a sister, Marlene S. Gardner; a niece, Meredith Ann Gardner; several cousins; best friends and caretakers, Amy Wight and her family.
A funeral service for Mr. Wilford Ivan Stackhouse will be held at 1 PM on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Legacy Funeral Center-Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial at Resthaven Memorial Park will take place on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 10 AM.
