Wayne Dennis Cougler, Jr., a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Wayne was the cherished son of the late Wayne Dennis Cougler, Sr. and Helen Cougler.
Wayne was a passionate University of Kentucky basketball fan, known for his unwavering support and enthusiasm for his Wildcats. His love for sports extended beyond basketball; he was a fervent NASCAR and go-cart racing enthusiast, often found at the tracks cheering on his favorite drivers or racing with friends. Wayne's competitive spirit was put on display in his love for playing darts, where he shared many joyful moments with those close to him.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Sr. and Helen Cougler Calloway; and nephew, Jeremy Cain.
Survivors include his children, Mercury Cougler (Arthur), Wayne Dennis Cougler III, Timothy Carlisle, and Dakota Jackson; long-time companion, Barbara Cravens; five grandchildren; sister, Donna Cain (Brian); nephew and niece, Brian Cain II and Hali Shepherd (Alonzo).
A service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024, at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street - Jeffersonville. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024, before his funeral service at the funeral home.
