Tony Lee "Pappy" Bentley, 63, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.  Tony was a man whose hands could build almost anything and whose heart had room for everyone. After spending decades in the construction industry, he became known as a true jack of all trades. Whether he was mastering carpentry, carving wood, laying pipe, or repairing just about anything that needed fixing, Tony took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

When he wasn't working, Tony embraced life's simple pleasures. He loved hunting for treasures at Goodwill and the Salvation Army, always convinced the next great find was waiting on the shelf. A devoted animal lover, he treasured time at home with his faithful companions—his confident canines, Pupper Dog & Valerie; FeFe, the family ferret; and Mr. Lizard, the bearded dragon.

Music was woven into Tony's life. A lifelong fan of Bluegrass Music, he was often found strumming his guitar, singing along to his favorite songs, or gathering family together for an impromptu jam session. He especially enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to "hambone" and play the spoons, hoping one day to have a family bluegrass band.  Above all else, Tony was a devoted family man. Some of his happiest memories were made on family "Adventures in the Woods," exploring nature and sharing its beauty with those he loved. His greatest joy, however, was simply being "Pappy." He cherished every hug, every kiss, and every laugh shared with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and there was no place he'd rather be than surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Billy Ray Bentley; his brother, Teddy Bentley; and his sisters, Linda Bentley and Penny Bentley.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Ruby Casey of New Albany; his beloved wife, Teresa Bentley of Kentucky; his daughters, Donna E. Mason and Jennifer A. Pedigo, both of Kentucky, and Amy Bentley of Clarksville; his sisters, Tina Bentley of Jeffersonville and Karen Massengill of New Albany; his grandchildren, Steven Sellers, Jennifer Goss (Jared), Jacob Sellers, Alexis Shepherd (Chase), Ethan Sanchez, Chloe Feldphush, Tristin Lainhart, and Xander Mosley; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Jacob Austin Sellers, Charli Lanham, Bentley Storms, Ryker Goss, Elize Sellers, Eli Sellers, and Nate Shepherd, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Though Tony could build almost anything, the greatest thing he built was a life centered on faith in family, kindness, laughter, music, and love. His legacy will live on every time a bluegrass song is played, a bargain is discovered at a thrift store, a walk is taken through the woods, or a grandchild laughs while playing the spoons. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

**Funeral Services will be held 2 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Legacy Funeral Center – Scott Chapel, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana.  Friends may visit  from 4-8 PM on Thursday, August 6, and from 10 AM until service time on Friday at the Funeral Home.
