Thurman Lee Hamlet

Thurman Lee Hamlet, formerly know as NATE  to many others, passed away at the age of 64  peacefully on November 12,2024, in Clarksville, Indiana. Born September 24, 1960 in Huntsville, Alabama, he was the beloved Son of Annie Mae Townsend and Loyd Hamlett. 

A dedicated and hardworking man, Thurman was in known as a roofer and he last employment was at Ross and Micheal’s from 2015-2019 until he had a stroke to decline his health. He took pride in his work, always striving to do his best for himself and others. Outside of work , he enjoyed spending time with family , watching sports and routing for his teams, fishing, and cooking for his love ones. Thurman cherished time with his loved ones, and brought some much joy and laughter in every family gathering. 

Thurman was preceded in death by his parents Annie Mae Townsend and Loyd Hamlett, step father ;Leroy King Carter Jr: Grandparents Mary Ellen Stewart, And Johnny D Townsend on Mom side, Zella Mae Hamlett, Melton Hamlet on his dad side:  Aunt; Veronica Vance; Sister; Dorothy Louise; and Brother Melvin Davis

He leaves to cherish his memories: He loved his son; Thurman Lee Turner(Jasmine Turner) , Grandchildren: Jahmiar, Mirai, Nina, Qur’ran, Jersey, Journei, and Jace; Sisters Valerie Hamlet, Deanna Hamlett, Cynthia Davis, Sandra(Dennis) and Jacqueline ; Brothers: JohnnyRay Davis(Lashon) , Melvin Davis and Sam Davis Jr, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, and friends

Service would be held on November 30. 2024 at 2pm located at BRIGHTER DAY ANDERSON TEMPLE COGIC, Pastor Elder Charles Craft III , 1755 E . 10th street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130 visitation from 12-2 pm and the funeral service right after.
