Thomas Raymond Green, Jr., 68, of Louisville, KY, passed away on September 25, 2024. Born on
November 29, 1955, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives
of everyone he knew.
Thomas married the love of his life, Jackie Pool Green, on December 6, 1973, and they shared 51 years
of marriage together. He worked as a dedicated mechanic for Yellow Cab Company for 41 years, where
his skill and passion for cars were well-known. A street rod enthusiast, Thomas took great pride in his
prized 1947 Dodge and 1940 Plymouth Sedan Delivery, both equipped with Chevy drivetrains.
He will be remembered for his love of family, friends, and his beloved pets. He is survived by his wife,
Jackie, son Thomas Raymond Green, III (Amy), daughter Elizabeth Rose Green, and grandchildren
Thomas Raymond Green, IV, Stephanie Boyd, Jacklyn Rose Green, Destiny Green, Teresa Nash, and
Jodee Nash. His memory will also be cherished by his sister, Nanza Green, and his special friends Mike
Hicks, Ed Price, and Bobby Greene. Thomas leaves behind several great-grandchildren, nieces , nephews,
his two dogs, Nyla and Henny, and his cat, Puddin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Raymond Green, Sr., Lena Acuff, and his adopted
mother, Katherine Crady Green, two brothers and three sisters.
Thomas will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched. His passion for
cars, his devotion to his family, and his generous spirit will be remembered and celebrated by those who
knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the Legacy Schoppenhorst Chapel,
1832 West Market St., Louisville, KY 40203. Visitation will be from 11 am until time of the service on
Tuesday. Cremation will follow.
