Theresa M. (Guinn) Lea

Theresa M. Lea, 98, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Louisville, Kentucky.  She was born on August 20, 1923, to John B. and Minnie G. Guinn in Louisville, Kentucky.  Theresa was crafty, she enjoyed crocheting and painting murals.  She liked to keep everyone in line with her witty, jokester personality.  In her spare time, Theresa loved playing bingo and bunko.  She also loved gathering for the holidays and loved cooking the family meals.  Theresa loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Theresa is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50+ years, George W. Lea Sr.; her parents, John B. Guinn and Minnie Chambers Guinn; and her caregiver and son in law, Howard Boone Sr.

Left to cherish her memory, Theresa leaves behind 2 children, Georgeann Boone and George W. Lea Jr.; 7 grandchildren, Crystal Boone (Adam), Anna Sheckles (Robert), Howard Ray Boone Jr. (Amy), Teresa Huff (Anthony), Stephanie Lea, David Craig, and Megan Smith (Andy);  grandchildren by choice, Bubby & Sissy Boone; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren;  and a host of  nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at Legacy Funeral Center-Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 W. Market Street from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Also Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 9:00 a.m.- Noon. with the funeral services being held at noon. Burial will be private.
