Theresa Lynn Bauer, 66, passed away on October 1, 2026. She was born on March 15, 1960, in
Jeffersonville, Indiana, to the late Robert A. Bauer and Linda Lucas Bauer.

Theresa had a warm heart and a special love for children, greatly enjoying the time she spent
working with them. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she loved her church family
at Church of the Rock in New Albany, Indiana.

Theresa found great happiness near the water. She loved going to the ocean and especially
enjoyed swimming. She was also an avid fan of the WNBA’s Indiana Fever and enjoyed
watching their basketball games. Among her other favorite pastimes were playing pool and
listening to music. Theresa also knew sign language, something that was meaningful to her and
reflected her desire to teach children in her classroom.

Animals held a special place in Theresa’s heart, particularly her beloved dogs, Zoie, her Shih
Tzu, and Gabe, her Jack Russell Terrier, who brought her much love and companionship.

Theresa is survived by her brothers, Robert F. Bauer (Laura) and Stephen Bauer (Laurie);
nephews, Gabe Bauer (Lacey), Gavin Bauer, Garren Bauer (Meagan), and Lucus Bauer; great-
niece, Marlowe Bauer; aunt, Carol Hasma (Howard); uncle, Donald Bauer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Linda.

Theresa will be remembered for the things that brought her joy—the ocean, swimming, children,
music, basketball, playing pool, her church, her beloved pets, and, most of all, the people she
loved. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends and all those whose lives
she touched.

A memorial service will be held 5PM on Monday, October 19, 2026 at Legacy Funeral Center: Scott Chapel (921 Main Street, Jeffersonville), officiated by Pastor Shaun Garing of The Church on the Rock.   Friends may visit from 1PM until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
