Terry Ray Matherly, Sr., Age 76 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on March 8, 2025. He was born on December 29, 1948, to the late David Lee Matherly and Pauline Willis Matherly.

Terry worked at General Electric earlier in life, but in his later years, he found joy in simple pleasures. He loved watching birds, especially blue jays and cardinals, at his bird feeder. He enjoyed sitting in the sun, having conversations with anyone who stopped by his table, and going shopping with his beloved wife, Paula. Terry also cherished his trips to the hardware store, where he could always find something to occupy his time.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Mike Matherly, Kenny Matherly, and Joe Matherly. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Willis Matherly; children, Paula Gardner, and Terry Matherly, Jr.; grandchildren, Miranda Crady, Ronnie Crady, Eric Embry, and Gabriel Matherly; and his sister, Donna Smith (Paul).

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Legacy Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 West Market St., Louisville, KY 40203, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
