Teri Rene Mattingly, 52, of Marengo, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on October 4, 2025. A beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Teri’s life was a vibrant tapestry woven with creativity, imagination, and unwavering love.
Born on April 9, 1973, Teri had a deep passion for arts and crafts and found joy in the small, beautiful moments of life. She was especially fond of diamond art and puzzles, which brought her peace and satisfaction. A devoted reader, she loved getting lost in books, and she had a playful spirit that came alive in her favorite games—The Sims and The Legend of Zelda. Teri’s creativity knew no bounds, and she brought light and warmth into every space she entered.
Family was at the very center of Teri’s heart. She is survived by her father, Marvin Mattingly; her cherished sons, Chris Nolan (Sapphire) and Kenneth Nolan; her siblings, Scott Mattingly (Jessica), Jennifer Wertz (Gary), Jason Mattingly (Brandi); and her adored grandchildren, Emery Nolan, Alix Nolan, and Haylee Rene Nolan and her aunt, Kimberly Smallwood Smith.. Each of them was a source of great pride and joy in her life.
Teri is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Barbara Smallwood, and her stepmother, Vanessa Mattingly, and grandparents, Bill and Evelyn Smallwood. Though her absence leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those who love her, her memory will forever live on in the stories, laughter, and love she shared so freely.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, at Legacy Funeral Chapel, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 11:30 with cremation to follow.
In honor of Teri’s life and spirit, the family invites you to celebrate her by embracing the things she loved most—create something with your hands, share time with those you love, or simply pause to enjoy a quiet moment with a book or a game, just as she often did.
