Tammy Thompson, 62, passed away peacefully at her home in Louisville, Kentucky, on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Born on June 7, 1962, to Shelby Jean Thompson in Louisville, Tammy lived a life marked by love, resilience, and dedication.
A beloved sister, aunt, and great aunt, Tammy had a unique ability to make everyone feel like family. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were constants for those who knew her. She was a pillar of strength, having bravely battled and overcome cancer three times. Tammy's warrior spirit was an inspiration to all.
Tammy's professional life was defined by her dedication and hard work. She was a valued employee at SuperAmerica/Speedway for 22 years, where her commitment and cheerful demeanor left a lasting impression on her colleagues and customers.
In her personal time, Tammy had a passion for photography, capturing the beauty in everyday moments. She was an avid collector of anything M&M's, a testament to her playful and whimsical nature. Her love for Ghost Hunters and crime shows reflected her curious mind and love for adventure. The color blue was her favorite, a hue that matched her calm and serene personality.
Tammy's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever be cherished.
Tammy is preceded in death by her mother, Shelby Jean McCue Thompson.
Left to cherish her memory, Tammy is survived by her sister, Melody Ann Stoll; 3 nieces/nephews, Crystal Lawson, Ashley Jean Thompson (Shawn), and Michael Edward Stoll (Ann-Marie); 7 great-nieces/nephews, Shelby Ann Carter, Gilbert “Tyler” Ford, Angel Stoll, Margie Stoll, Addison Stoll, Lorelai Thompson, and Luca Thompson; great-great niece, Brileigh Haney; lifelong best friend, DaWanna Alvey; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A funeral service for Ms. Tammy Thompson will be held at 3 PM on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Legacy Funeral Center – Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 3 PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial at Draper Cemetery in Whitleyville, Tennessee will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 12 PM Central.
