Tammy D. Cruce, 60, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at her home in Louisville, Kentucky. Tammy was born on November 5, 1962, to the late George and Virginia Folds in Ft. Myers, Florida. Tammy was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, and a dedicated mother, sister and grandmother. After serving her country, Tammy was a member of the Millwright Union, and did work in 48 different states. She was a baker at heart. Tammy showed her love through cooking, feeding, and gather for the holidays. She was strong willed, and always had a great sense of humor. Most of all, Tammy liked getting dressed up in her nicest clothes and shoes, and just looking and feeling good. In her spare time, Tammy loved listening to audio books, playing Wii bowling, cheering on her beloved Georgia Bulldogs, and traveling, especially to Paris and Alaska. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, George Cary and Virginia Inez Folds, Tammy is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Barbara Rowe, and Sonja Folds Bonsall; and a niece, Mindy Castile.
Left to cherish her memory, Tammy leaves behind a son, Cary Degler (Christina Ennis); 3 brothers, George Folds, Wes James (Jackie), and Ken James (Lisa); 3 grandchildren, Jennis Day, Halee Day, and Mason Day; 3 nieces, Buffy James Lawson, Crystal Brazier, and Angela Rowe Zelenski; 2 great nieces, Elizabeth James, and Jessica Nee Smith; 6 great nephews, Chris James, Jessie James, Jason James, Zach Lawson, Devin Lawson, and Kyle Castile; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A funeral service for Ms. Tammy D. Cruce will be held at 1 PM, on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Legacy Funeral Center - Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Entombment at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery Central will take place on Monday, February 13, 2023.
