Sharon Lois Wilson, age 85 of Jeffersonville, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Born to the late Leslie Woehrle and Christine Watson, Sharon lived a life defined by kindness, creativity, and devotion to those she loved. She was a familiar and cherished face to many as a member of the opening crew at the Meijer on Allison Lane when it first opened its doors in 1998. Sharon lovingly designed eye-catching displays throughout the store and became well known to her regular customers for her sweet smile, gentle heart, and welcoming spirit.
At home, Sharon found joy in the simple, meaningful moments. She loved knitting beautiful, hand-crafted afghans for family and friends—each stitch a quiet expression of her love. She enjoyed playing cards, working puzzles, and sharing laughter around the table. Yet, nothing brought her greater happiness than her family. Above all else, Sharon was a devoted mother and grandmother. Affectionately known as “GiGi” by her beloved great-grandbabies, she treasured family gatherings filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness. Her home and her heart were always open, and her love will forever echo in the lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Wilson, with whom she now shares eternal peace. Sharon is survived by her loving children: John Wilson (Susan) of Jeffersonville; Michael Wilson (Kathy) of Louisville; and Richard “Rick” Wilson (Jennifer) of New Jersey; Debbie Wilson Stephens (Alan) of Tennessee; her brother, Billy Woehrle of Texas; and her treasured grandchildren: Andrew Wilson (Ashley), Nicole Wilson, Christopher Stephens (Jamie), Kevin Stephens (Jonna), William Evan Wilson, Evelyn Alexandra Strange (Alex “Mac”), Zachary Wilson (Nicole), Zoe Varrone (Anthony), and Mackenzie Wilson. She also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren: Jake, Aden, Naleigh, Cal, Katherine Elizabeth, Mia, Reagan, Charlotte, and Scarlett, each a living reminder of her enduring love. She also leaves her life-time best friend of 80 years, Lois Harlow.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Legacy Funeral Center, Scott Chapel (921 Main Street, Jeffersonville), with Chaplain Joshua Spencer of Bristol Hospice officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
Sharon Lois Wilson will be remembered for her gentle soul, her loving hands, and the countless ways she made the world a warmer, kinder place. Her memory will live on in every shared laugh, every handmade gift, and every heart she so lovingly touched.
