Shaine Tom Obituary

Shaine Lei Tom, 45, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026.  Born to the late George Gong Tom, Shaine lived a life marked by quiet joys, deep loyalty, and an unmistakable sense of personal style. A devoted member of the Jeffersonville Ward @ New Albany Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he faithfully served as Assistant Ward Clerk, offering his time and care to his church community.

Shaine found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He cherished peaceful evenings at home, often immersed in his favorite WWII movie classics on his big screen TV, where he felt transported into the stories he loved. When he wasn’t relaxing at home, he could often be found enjoying the open road in his prized black Mustang convertible—a reflection of his love for freedom and adventure.  He took pride in his unique sense of style, building an impressive collection of ball caps and tennis shoes, always perfectly matched and worn with confidence. Shaine was also an avid gun collector. With a passion for his hobbies he approached each interest with enthusiasm and care.

Above all else, Shaine’s greatest joy was his family. He shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews, who adored their Uncle Shaine just as deeply as he loved them. Their time together was filled with laughter, warmth, and unforgettable memories that will be treasured forever.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Lynn Tom of Jeffersonville; his loving sisters, Tracey Tom-Lynch (Matthew) of New Albany and Nicole Hall (Tony) of Charlestown; his niece, Katlyn Milligan; his nephew, Logan Heintz; his cherished grand-niece and grand-nephew, Charlotte and Jaxon Milligan; his lifelong best friends, Brian Crawford & Eddie Faulstick; and his beloved canine friend, Toodles, who remained faithfully by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Jeffersonville Ward @
New Albany Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1534 Slate Run Road, New Albany), with Ed Faulstick officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 NOON until the time of service at the church.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Legacy Funeral Center – Scott Chapel, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville.

Shaine will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love of family, and the quiet, meaningful way he lived his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
