Scott A. Cable, 53, passed away on July 11, 2024, at his home in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on July 8, 1971, in Casper, Wyoming, to Roy and Barbara (Bates) Steunenberg, Scott lived a life marked by love, service, and dedication.
A veteran of the United States Army, Scott was known for his hard work, sometimes dramatic flair, and a heart that always sought to help others. He was blessed with the gift of gab, often spending hours on the phone, connecting with friends and family. On November 4, 2009, Scott found solace and purpose in his faith, discovering Jesus and embracing his newfound path.
Scott’s sense of humor was infectious, and he found it challenging to sit still, always brimming with energy and enthusiasm. He had a deep love for music and movies, and his favorite beverages, Dr. Pepper and lattes, were never far from his side.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever. Scott was a devoted husband, a cherished brother, a proud father, and a doting grandfather. His legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering support for those around him will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Scott A. Cable’s life was a testament to the power of connection, the importance of laughter, and the enduring strength of love. He will be deeply missed.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Steunenberg, and Barbara Bates Cable.
Left to cherish his memory, Scott is survived by his loving wife, Amanda Cable; 3 sons, Roman, Robby, and Ryan; 2 sisters, Sheri Beersman (Wes), and Carri Gruver (Todd); several grandchildren; 4 nieces/nephews, Chris, Lauren, Danielle, and Eden; and a host of extended family and close friends.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in Missouri at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations be made to GoFundMe to help support his wife and minor child.
