Sandra Kay Trowell, 65, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A lifelong and devoted member of Christ Gospel Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Sandy lived her faith with sincerity and a servant’s heart. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and steadfast devotion to those she loved made her a blessing to all who knew her.
Born in Louisville to the late Francis Cecil and Mary Catherine Pierce, Sandy grew up in a close-knit family where she learned the values of compassion, humility, and perseverance, which were virtues she carried throughout her life.
For 33 beautiful years, Sandy shared her life with her beloved husband, Donald Trowell, Sr., with whom she built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. She was a proud and devoted mother to her children, Donnie Trowell, Jr. and Sha’lee Trowell, and a cherished grandmother to Joshua Roberts, Jr., Lilly Roberts, and Allister Trowell, who brought endless joy to her days.
Sandy is also survived by her loving siblings, Sheila Payne (John), Pete Pierce (Kitty), and Suzanne Mowry (Dan). She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her siblings, Sharon White and Shelly Barnette. Though they have gone before her, the family rejoices in knowing they are reunited once again.
Family and friends are invited to honor Sandy’s life during visitation from 9–11 a.m. at Christ Gospel Church, 2614 E. 10th Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana. A funeral service celebrating her life and faith will begin at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
Legacy Funeral Center has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Sandy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her loving heart, and the gentle grace with which she touched the lives of all who knew her. May her memory be a comfort and a blessing.
