Ruthie Christine Miller, age 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026.

She was born on June 24, 1938, in Edmonton, Kentucky, to the late Raymond Clarence Fields and Fannie Mae Harper Fields.

Ruthie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered around her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved and created a home filled with warmth, generosity, and care. A true giving spirit, Ruthie was known for her kindness and willingness to help others—whether by sharing meals, offering financial support, or thoughtfully purchasing clothing and necessities for those in need.

She also enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, including watching WWE wrestling on Friday nights and keeping up with her favorite soap operas, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful.

Ruthie is survived by her loving grandchildren: Christy Rhodes (Paul), Aaron Corder, Laura Dickinson Corder (Alex), Michelle Corder, Kathleen Corder, Crystal Miller, and Candice Rowley (Alex); several cherished great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Gail Miller; and her brothers, Lonnie Fields and David Fields.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Harold Miller; her children, Sharon Corder and William Terry Miller; her parents; several sisters and brothers; and her faithful companions, her dogs Mimi and Angel.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Legacy Funeral Center – Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Boulevard, Louisville, Kentucky 40215. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

A private burial will take place at Highland Memorial Gardens in Mount Washington, Kentucky.

Ruthie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of her family.
