Roy Francis

Roy Francis was born February 12th, 1931, to the late Mr. George and Mrs. Ethel Smith Francis, in London, England. As a young man, he faithfully and honorably served his country in the Royal Air Force. In the early 60’s, Roy moved from England to the United States. He worked for Teen Challenge in Chicago, Illinois, where he met Roger Doty, who invited him to attend Christ Gospel Churches, Int’l.

In 1963, he traveled to Jeffersonville, Indiana, to attend Christ Gospel Church and became a member. Soon afterwards, he met his beloved wife, Elaine, and they were married on June 12th, 1964. Roy has been a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was employed by General Electric in Louisville, KY, as a skilled electrician for 30+ years. Upon retiring from there, Roy was employed by Christ Gospel Churches, Int’l. in their Maintenance Department. He was a hard worker and valued employee at both places. Roy has been a faithful member of Christ Gospel Church, Jeffersonville, IN, for 61 years. He was a Godly man who loved the LORD and lived an exemplary life of always sharing Christ’s Love with others. All those who were blessed to know Roy describe him as being a very sweet, kind, gentle, and grateful servant.

He passed away on Thursday, November 7th, 2024, at the age of 93. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine Lee Francis, his brother Reginald Francis, and his sister-in-law, Lynn Holsinger. He is survived by his three daughters: Anne Brown of Devon, England, Rebecca Brocato of Maurepas, Louisiana, and Linnea Duke Allen of Clarksville, Indiana; his brother-in-law, Wayne Holsinger of Clarksville, Indiana; three grandsons, two granddaughters, three great grandchildren, and many friends and loved ones.

Now that Roy has passed into the Arms of our LORD, his physical life on earth is over, but his passing is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for him. He is greatly missed, but we look forward to joining him soon in the eternal regions of the Great Beyond. 

Visitation will be at Christ Gospel Church, 2416 East 10th Street, Jeffersonville, IN, on Thursday, November 14th, from 9 am until 11 am with the funeral to follow at 11 am. Burial will be at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
