Rockie Rose Lockard, age 71, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on August 9, 2026. She was born on February 21, 1955, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late James White and Peggy Dempsey.

Rockie worked for the Jefferson County Public School System for many years as a teacher’s aide. She was a loving, easygoing woman who was always smiling and happy. Rockie enjoyed going to the beach and, most of all, spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her warm heart, gentle spirit, and joyful personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rockie is survived by her son, Johnny Lockard, Jr. (Tracey); her grandchildren, Eric Lockard, Jr., Baelin Lockard, Heaven'Lea Nicole Lockard, Macie Lynn Lockard, Dayton Jon Lockard, Tyler Lockard, and Justin Lockard; two great-grandchildren; her brothers, James White, Jr. and JesseeWhite; and sisters-in-law, Sherry Bates, Linda White, Debbie Gardner, and Betty Villier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James White and Peggy Dempsey; her husband, Johnny Lockard, Sr.; and her son, Eric Lockard, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Legacy Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 1832 W. Market Street, Louisville, Kentucky.

A funeral service celebrating Rockie's life will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service.
