Richard "Rick" William McGinnis Jr., beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away on July 18, 2024. Born on June 29, 1982, at Floyd Memorial Hospital, Rick lived a life full of passion, dedication, and love.
Rick was the devoted husband of Amanda and the proud father of his children: sons Kelby, Ashton, Mason, Dylan, and Mason, and daughters Madison and Kinleigh. He was the cherished son of Rick and Bronica McGinnis and the loving brother to Brittany (Scott) Pippin, Jennifer (Jeff) Pelkey, and Kimberly (Greg) Hogle. Rick's life was further enriched by the love of his grandparents, Chris and Phyllis Sands, and Dick and MaryAnne McGinnis. Additionally, his memory will always be cherished by his loving aunt Renee and his many nieces and nephews.
Rick attended Providence High School for three years before graduating from Charlestown High School. He was an accomplished wrestler, winning numerous medals and placing in the top five of his division during his high school years. His passion for wrestling continued as he became a dedicated coach, passing on his love for the sport to his sons and inspiring many young athletes.
A true entrepreneur, Rick loved building his business and was known for his hard work and generosity. He never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Rick's selflessness and kindness made him the cornerstone of his family and community.
Rick found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved his dog, cherished being outdoors, and took great satisfaction in working with his hands. Above all, he was most proud of his family. His children were his world, and his love and dedication to them were boundless.
Rick's legacy of love, hard work, and generosity will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a family that adored him and countless friends who will miss his unwavering support and warm presence.
