Rebecca "Becki" Lynn Christian, age 60, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on January 9, 2025, at Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. Born on November 6, 1964, in Louisville, Becki dedicated her life to helping others and left a lasting legacy through her unwavering love and compassion.
Becki worked in recovery ministry for many years, guiding countless individuals on their paths to healing. She also served as a reading coordinator at J.B. Atkinson School, where her dedication to education touched the lives of many children. Her love for the University of Kentucky Wildcats, especially her all-time favorite player Rex Chapman, was a testament to her passionate spirit.
Becki was a talented artist who loved arts and crafts, songwriting, and music. Her devotion to her Christian faith shaped her life and inspired her care for her community. She was known for her love of children and animals, often taking care of kids in her neighborhood and spreading kindness wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Duvall Morgan; her aunt, Alice Sandra Duvall; her niece, Holly Christian; her great-nephew, David Wayne Nowlin; and her brother-in-law, Steven Wilbert.
Becki is survived by her loving husband, Ray Christian; her father, Damon Morgan; her children, Danielle Christian (Lee) and Cory Christian; her grandchildren, Grayson, June, Jaelyn, and Chase; her sister, Sandra Wilbert; her brother, Stephen Morgan; and her nieces and nephews, Dana, Stephanie, Shelby, Leah, Becky, Bobbie Gale, Caitlin, Lauren, Ross, and Travis, as well as several great-nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 7:00 PM, and again on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at Legacy Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 1832 West Market Street, Louisville, KY 40203.
Funeral services will take place at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
Becki’s life was defined by her compassion, creativity, and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
