Randall "Randy" Mark Medrano Obituary

Randall “Randy” Mark Medrano, age 64, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Dayton, Ohio, Randy was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Medrano. Proud of his Arapaho heritage, Randy also held close to his heart the honor of being adopted into the Pizi Oyate people of Standing Rock, South Dakota, a blessing for which he remained eternally grateful throughout his life.

Randy was a true naturalist whose spirit was most at peace beneath open skies and among the beauty of God’s creation. He embraced every opportunity to connect with the land through camping, hunting, fishing, and time spent outdoors. Whether gathered around a campfire, casting a line into quiet waters, or simply enjoying the stillness of nature, Randy found joy and purpose in the world around him.

Above all else, Randy will be remembered as a devoted family man whose love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family was unwavering. His gentle wisdom, strength, loyalty, and deep love for those closest to him created a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his beloved daughters, Kendra Medrano and Destiny Lokai; and his siblings, Felicia Medrano-Page, Pauline Lay, and Johnny Medrano.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 35 years, Tracy L. Medrano; sons, Acosta Medrano (Sarah) and Austin Medrano (Meagan), daughter, Amber Schroeder:  cherished grandchildren, Kahiya, Lygaci, Unyti, Makayla, Marcus, Kayden, and Chloe; siblings, Mary Joy Medrano, Sandra Garries (Jeff), David Medrano, Norene Styles, and Melanie Medrano; a tribe of nieces and nephews; as well as his lifelong friends and hunka family, Guy, Patrick, Kay, Wayne, and Lynette, and many others who shared in the journey of his life and brotherhood.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street in Jeffersonville. Funeral services celebrating Randy’s life will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Utica Hillcrest Cemetery.

Randy’s life was one rooted in love, heritage, family, friendship, and respect for the earth. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will forever live on in the stories shared beside campfires, the quiet beauty of nature, and the hearts of the family and friends who loved him dearly.
