Patricia "Tricia" Gales

Patricia Hamilton Gales born February 19, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky went to her Heavenly Father December 30, 2024.  “Pat” or “Tricia” as she was referred to was the second of three children born to Elza I. Hamilton and Doretha C. Hamilton.

She was a devout member of First Congregational Methodist Church in Louisville, Kentucky and a 1961 graduate of Louisville Male High School.  She later became associated with Bethel AME church in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

In 1967 Patricia married James A. Gales, Jr. and relocated to Jeffersonville, Indiana.  She was a loving and caring mother of two children, Mark A. Gales and Alicia D. Gales. 

Known for her compassion and vibrant spirit, Tricia had a passion for life’s simple joys. She loved spending time at casinos, playing Bingo, and indulging in countless games of Candy Crush. Her playful and competitive nature brought smiles to those around her. Above all, she cherished her family deeply and took immense pride in the bonds she nurtured with her loved ones.

Patricia now joins her parents, sister, brother, nieces, nephews and son in God’s Kingdom.  She leaves her husband James of 57 years, daughter Alicia, sister-in-law Carmen Ross, special daughter Sharlene Wright, two granddaughters Alexandra (Alex) and Yolanda (Yani), three grandsons Gabriel, Quinn Tre’ and Rashad and great granddaughter Aliviya to mourn her passing along with a host of relatives and friends.

There will be a visitation held on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 10:00-12:00 p.m. with service to follow at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Burial will follow at Madison Indiana Veterans Cemetery.
