Nelda “Sue” Flint, age 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Burkesville, Kentucky, to the late William Harvey and Rosie Lone, Sue lived a life marked by boundless generosity, deep compassion, and a fierce devotion to her family and community.
Sue was known by all who loved her as a giver—never out of obligation, but out of love. Whether it was a much-needed appliance, a warm meal, or simply a listening ear, Sue gave without hesitation. Her heart and her home were always open. For family, friends, and even strangers who needed a safe place to rest, Sue’s door—and her arms—were wide open.
Professionally, Sue poured her heart into her work with developmentally challenged individuals at Life Springs, where she served with tenderness, respect, and unwavering care. Her quiet strength and nurturing spirit left a lasting imprint on the lives of those she served and worked alongside.
Sue’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Charlie Flint; her children, Rodney Popplewell (Kim) and Kimberly Graham (Wendy); her beloved grandchildren, Heather Ward (Wesley), Dalton Ward (Whitnei), Alex Popplewell, and Matthew Kerr (Shannon); and her cherished great-grandchildren, Wyatt Ward, Dallas Ward, Jai Nickols, Jake Hall, Steven Andersen, Lillianna Wyble, Wynter Wyble, and Tyberius Wyble. She also leaves behind her loving sister, Peggy Bryant (Junior); her stepchildren, Kristie Littrell (Matt) and Kevin Flint (Kat); step grandchildren, Jalynn Voris (Brady), Dylan Bedel (Caley), Jacob Bedel, Alexis Littrell, Hunter Littrell, Keyton Littrell, and Austin Andersen; great step grandchildren, Rayden Littrell, Remington Voris, Priscilla Voris, Iryis Voris, Isabella Voris, Hazel Littrell; and countless extended family members who will miss her dearly.
Sue’s legacy is one of kindness, strength, and an unshakable love for those around her. Her memory will live on in every life she touched and every heart she helped heal.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Legacy Funeral Center – Jeffersonville. A funeral service celebrating Sue’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
