Michael Tyler Schmidt Jr. "Baby Ty"

Michael Tyler Schmidt Jr., "Baby Ty" 11, passed away, Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Norton Children's Hospital. 

He was born March 7, 2011 in Louisville, Kentucky to Amanda S. Vittitow and Michael T. Schmidt Sr. Michael enjoyed swimming, listening to music, and was a avid UK fan. He was a joy to be with. Michael would brighten your day with his sweet smile, his laugh and his silly facial expressions. He was a very strong young man for everything he has been through in his short life. Michael was adored by a lot of people and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Michael is preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Roger Vittitow, Sr. and Ricky Bratcher; and great grandmother, Agnes Vittitow. 

Those left to cherish Michael's memory are his mother, Amanda S. Vittitow (Matthew Pipke); father, Michael T. Schmidt Sr. (Courtney); brother, Jase Schmidt; sister, River Schmidt; grandparents, Carolyn Vittitow-Willis (Jimmy), Tina Vittitow,  Wes and Melissa Watson; great grandparents, David Basham (Deborah), Bobbi Ferrell (Junior), Mary Lou Schmidt, Tony Schmidt and Linda Simpson; three aunts, Krista Willis, Ella Watson and Kayla Martin; five uncles, Roger Vittitow, Jr. (Nikki Alcorn), Bradley Vittitow (Lynn Taylor), Sean Willis, Wesley Watson and Dillon Sheeks; four cousins, Jaydden, Raydden, Kaleb and Lillian; and his two beloved fur babies, Coco and Chloe Vittitow. 

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 18, 2022 from 1:00-8:00 P.M. and Monday, September 19, 2022 from 10:00 A.M.- 2:00 P.M.at Legacy Funeral Center - Schoppenhorst Chapel, 1832 West Market Street. funeral services will begin Monday  at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
