Michael Richard Allen, born on March 31, 1957, in Olney, Illinois entered Eternal Life on Saturday, November 4, 2023. He was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, whose faith illuminated his every action.
Michael served as a steadfast deacon and elder at Meigs Avenue Church of Christ, where he poured his heart and soul into ministering to the blossoming youth group. He was a source of guidance and inspiration for countless young souls, leaving an indelible mark on their spiritual journeys. He continued his faithful devotion to the local body of believer at Northside Church of Christ following the closure of his church home, Meigs Avenue.
However, above all else, Michael will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, a caring father, and a cherished Pawpaw. His unwavering love and support enriched the lives of his family, and his legacy will forever be a testament to the power of faith, love, and dedication.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Glenn Allen.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Janie Myers Allen; children, Kevin Allen, Amanda Elmore (Aaron), and Nathan Allen (Ana-Licia); grandchildren, Kyle Allen, Makayla Feger (Lawson), Noah Allen, Isabelle Elmore, Bailey Allen, Payton Allen, Foster Elmore, Braydon Allen, Quinn Allen, and Roman Allen; his mother, Euvonna Allen; brother-in-law, Matt Myers (Jennifer), niece, Mary Kaitlyn Moses (Rebecca); and nephew, John Logan Myers.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Northside Church of Christ, 2510 E 10th Street – Jeffersonville. Funeral services will be celebrated at the conclusion of receiving hours at church 12 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, with cremation to follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to Legacy Funeral Center – Jeffersonville.
Though he has departed from this world, his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he touched, and his faith will serve as a guiding light for those who follow in his footsteps.
