Melinda Yolanda Trevino, age 74, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025. Born in Houston, Texas, Melinda’s journey took her to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she built a life rich in friendships, cherished memories, and deep-rooted connections. In her later years, she found great joy in Jeffersonville, Indiana, treasuring every moment spent with her beloved son, Christopher Vidrine, and her precious grandchildren, Anthony and Zoey. She was lovingly known by many, especially her family as “Mamboo”.

Melinda was a woman of ambition, intelligence, and unwavering determination. Her sharp financial acumen made her a trusted guide in personal finance, empowering many with the tools to achieve their dreams. Beyond her professional successes, she held a deep passion for understanding and nurturing young minds, earning a degree in Childhood Psychology—a testament to her compassion and lifelong dedication to learning.

Melinda had an incredible knack for finding a good buy and a thrifty nature that was unmatched. Whether it was discovering hidden treasures at a flea market or negotiating the best deal, she had a way of making every dollar stretch. Her family often marveled at her ability to turn simple finds into something extraordinary.

She is survived by her son, Chris Vidrine (Constance); grandchildren, Anthony and Zoey; siblings, Gloria, Ralph, Evelyn, Tommy, Jamie, and Janet; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, until service time at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street – Jeffersonville. Funeral services will be celebrated 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Melinda’s honor to a charity of your choice that supports children and families.
