Matthew Blake Russell, Jr., beloved firstborn son of Kaelin Marie Dunn and Matthew Blake Russell, Sr., was born August 11, 2026, in Louisville. Though his time on Earth was far too brief, Matthew was deeply loved from the very beginning and will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his family.

Matthew leaves behind his loving parents, Kaelin and Matthew; maternal grandparents, Crystal and Christopher Dunn, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Crystal and Scott Russell; great-grandfather, Thomas Stillings, Sr.; and aunts and uncles, Chelsie Dunn, Christopher Dunn Jr. (Dayna), Chris Russell (Alexis), and Jessica Cox. He will also be lovingly remembered by many extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by his precious presence.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Susan Stillings; Nina and John Joseph; and Georgia and William Dunn, Sr.

Although Matthew's life was measured in moments rather than years, the love he brought into this world will endure forever. He was a cherished son, grandson, great-grandson, nephew, and beloved member of his family. His memory will be carried in the hearts of those who loved him, and his place in their family will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Legacy Funeral Center - Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Boulevard, Louisville. Friends and family will gather at the conclusion of visitation at 3:00 p.m. for Matthew's funeral service.
