Mary Ray Obituary


Mary Lavern Ray, 75, of Portland, KY, passed away on November, 21, 2019.  Mary’s  family meant the world to her and providing for them brought her much joy.  She was a dedicated CNA for the Marion Ursuline sisters for 25 years.  Mary was an avid UK fan and loved listening to Elvis Presley. 

 She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Kennedy Kline; grandson, David Kline, Jr; parents, Kenneth and Mary Kappel; brother, Robert Joseph, aunt, Betty Edwards and uncles, Joe Edwards and Tommy Edwards.

Mary is survived by her sons, Ronald Kennedy and Robert (Terra) Price; daughter, Susie (Bobby) Bolin; grandchildren, Michael, Danielle, Jessica, Jordan, Amber, RJ, Landon and Ivory; 8 great-grandchildren and sisters, Patty Edwards, Kathy Edwards and Janet Petty

Visitation will be Sunday, December 1, 2019, from 11am-8pm at Neurath and Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, 1832 W. Market Street, Louisville, KY.  A celebration of Mary’s life will be Monday, December 2, 2019, beginning at 11am at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery, 2421 Hamburg Pike, Jeffersonville, IN.
