Mary Nell (Noffsinger) Childress

Mary Nell Childress, 95, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on February 17, 1926, to Claude Preston and Stella Mae Noffsinger in Central City, Kentucky. Mary loved her Church, her grandbabies, her great-grandbabies, her dog Coco, and being with her friends.  She enjoyed being outdoors, working in the garden, and caring for her rose bushes.  In her spare time, Mary could be found embroidering. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Claude and Stella Mae Noffsinger, Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, William H. Childress; daughter, Claudia Graser; sister, Jewell Wells; brother, Buell Noffsinger; and Son in Law, David L Graser Sr.

Left to cherish her memory, Mary leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Melissa K. Cissell (Mike), David L. Graser Jr, and William A. Graser (Megan); 4 great-grandchildren, Jesse Cissel, Chris Cissell, Rosalyne Nell Graser, and Isabelle Renee Graser; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Nell Childress will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 10 AM at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 10400 Blue Lick Rd, Louisville, Kentucky 40229. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 1 PM to 6 PM at Legacy Funeral Center-Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, Kentucky 40215.  Burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery to follow the funeral service.
