Mary Catherine Bickett

Mary Catherine Bickett, age 99, of Louisville, KY, passed away on December 27, 2024. She was
born on April 2, 1925, in Whitesville, KY, to the late John Edge and Gladys Cecil Edge.
Mary dedicated over 40 years of her life as an Avon representative, building cherished
relationships with her customers and community. She and her late husband, James Thomas
Bickett, shared a love for square dancing with their group, the "Swinging Stars." Mary had a
passion for quilting, a keen eye for fashion, and a deep fondness for the color red and cardinal
birds. She enjoyed watching squirrels, hummingbirds, and other wildlife, and spent peaceful days
fishing at Rough River.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her children, Thomas
Bickett, Joey Bickett, Teresa Arominski, and Rosey Adcock; and her brothers, Cliff Edge,
George Herman Edge, Charles Edge, Pat Edge, and Tom Edge.
She is survived by her children, Bob Bickett (Vickie), Bernie Bard (Marty), and Greta Vance;
her grandchildren, Bradley Bickett (Christina), Justin Bickett (Amber), Hillary Hoke (Donald),
Jamie Bard (Tiffany), Erica Norris, Brian Bickett, Crickett Neel, Elizabeth Pryor, Ashley
Arominski, and Starr Adcock; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and her
sisters, Martine Boarman, Elanora Karnes, Martha Wheatley, Bernadine Westerfield, and Lucy
Blair.
Visitation will take place from 5 PM until 8 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Legacy
Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Blvd., Louisville, KY 40215.
A Mass of Catholic burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at St. Simon & Jude
Catholic Church, 4335 Hazelwood Ave., Louisville, KY 40215, with burial to follow at St. Mary
of the Woods Cemetery.
Mary will be remembered for her kindness, her vibrant spirit, and the love she shared with her
family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and joy.
