Marvin Ray Carlisle

Marvin Carlisle, age 70, originally of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Marvin lived a life full of passion, laughter, and love, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Marvin was a true car enthusiast, and his love for automobiles brought him countless hours of joy, especially during his time spent at the Sportsdrome Speedway. Whether it was revving engines or watching races, Marvin’s spirit was always fueled by the thrill of the track. Beyond his love for cars, Marvin had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, especially fishing, where he found peace and solace.

But above all, Marvin’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family. His bond with loved ones was irreplaceable, and his warmth, humor, and generosity will forever be cherished by his family and friends. Marvin was a devoted brother, uncle, and friend, and his memory will live on in the hearts of many.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Carlisle, Sr.; sister, Delora Aranjo; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Lora Logsdon Carlisle and Everett Nelson Carlisle, Sr., and eight siblings.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville. Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Legacy Funeral Center, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

Marvin’s family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. He will be remembered fondly for his kind heart, passion for life, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
