Mark “MJ” Anthony Sanders, age 41, passed away on May 1, 2026. He was born on March 14, 1985, to Karen and Jerry Sanders, who survive him.
MJ was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Doris and Jack Sanders, and Martha and Mike Finerty.
He leaves behind a large and loving family, including his parents, Karen and Jerry Sanders; his sisters, Adonna Montgomery (Ron), Cynthia Purcell (Jason), and Nikki Sanders (Eugene); and his brother, Tom Sanders. He was a proud and devoted uncle to his nieces Aspen, Peyton, Nalai, Kamirah, Nash, and Zyriel, and his nephews Nolan, Ethan, Tyler, Braxton, Keagan and Gian. He was also a cherished great-uncle to Able, Parker, Oliver, and Leon. In addition, he is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors who will deeply miss him.
MJ was a passionate sports fan who never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams, the University of Louisville Cardinals and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was also a lifelong fan of WWE, often bringing that enthusiasm to life by spending hours on the trampoline with his nieces and nephews, creating their own wrestling matches filled with laughter and joy. Growing up, MJ loved playing basketball and baseball, carrying that competitive spirit and love of the game throughout his life.
Known for his generous heart, MJ was always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it was assisting neighbors with household chores or surprising loved ones with thoughtful gifts “just because,” he gave freely and never expected anything in return. His kindness, warmth, and selflessness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
MJ was truly loved by all who knew him, and to know him was to love him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
