Maria Lana Whittington
Obituary
Maria Lana Whittington of Louisville, Kentucky, also known as Starfire Soledad, passed away on May 7, 2023 at the age of 81. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, William M. Whittington II and Mary Opal Richardson Whittington Ross, as well as her brother William M. Whittington III.
Maria leaves to treasure her memory a loving adopted family including Amanda D. Michaels, Robert (Ashley) Summers, Annabelle Summers, Ashlynn Summers, and Adly Miller. Maria is also survived by stepsisters Debbie Ross Buss and Colleen Ross Manning, as well as a host of cousins, friends, and church family.
Maria was a native of Louisville, a graduate of the University of Louisville, and a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Louisville. She lived a life of experiments and left a wish that “You who yet live in this beautiful world find all the happiness life offers.”
Visitors may call at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 8110 St. Andrew’s Church Road, Louisville, KY from 11 AM to 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 13, with services to follow at 1:30. Internment of ashes will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
