Margaret "Sissy" Jean Sulzer, age 63, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025. She was born on December 17, 1961, to the late Frank Fraze and Florence Abell Fraze.
Sissy devoted her life to caring for others, both in her professional work as a facility manager and in her personal life, where her door—and her heart—were always open. She had a gift for nurturing, and it was rare to find a time when she wasn’t looking after someone’s child or offering a helping hand. Her warmth, kindness, and loving nature touched the hearts of all who knew her.
While gentle and caring, Sissy was also known for her feisty spirit—a spark that made her unforgettable. She loved deeply and gave selflessly, especially to her grandchildren, whom she cherished beyond words. She also shared a special, irreplaceable bond with her beloved white cat, also named Sissy.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary Sulzer; and her daughter, Abby Sulzer. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Colyer (Kathy); her daughter, Eva Stansbury (Ryan); and her adored grandchildren: Danielle Colyer, Jeremy Price, Collin Stansbury, Rylee Stansbury, Abbigail Stansbury, and Shelby Colyer. She also leaves behind her sister, Sue Zolecki; her brother, Frank Fraze; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful cat, Sissy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Thursday, June 5, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
Margaret "Sissy" Sulzer will be remembered for her boundless compassion, her fiery spirit, and the lasting love she gave so freely. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
