Lucy Kemp, 72, of Leavenworth, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025 surrounded by her family at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital. She was born on December 26, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Harry and Genevieve Keyer.
Lucy dedicated 30 years of her life to the IRS, retiring after a long and successful career. She was known for her hard work and commitment to excellence, which she carried with her into all aspects of her life.
Above all, Lucy cherished her family. She especially adored spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Whether it was fishing, crocheting, or enjoying computer games, she found joy in the simple pleasures that brought her closer to those she loved.
Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Genevieve Keyer; and 4 siblings.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Dennis Kemp; daughter, Jennifer Kemp; son, Dennis Kemp Jr.; brother, Tom Keyer; along with 3 grandchildren, Samantha Turkell(Eric), Malayah, Ariehana; 2 great grandchildren, Maci, Adaline; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncle.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 10:30 to 1:00pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 1:30pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1840 E 8th Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
