Lucille "Lou" Nichols

Lucille “Lou” Nichols, 77, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on June 24, 2024 at her home.  She was born on April 7, 1947 in Jeffersonville, Indiana daughter of Clifton James and Kathleen (Halter) James.

Lou was a cherished member of the community, known for her warmth, kindness, and love for life. She had a passion for live music and enjoyed baking, and traveling with family and friends. Her love for all the holidays was evident in the beautiful decorations she meticulously put up each season, creating a festive atmosphere that brought joy to everyone around her. Lou also was an avid fan of IU Basketball (Bobby Knight) era.

Above all, Lou was a devoted family member, whose love and dedication to her family were unparalleled.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers; Butch, Larry, Steve, Ronnie, Duke. Lou is survived by her daughters; Amy Leffert-Byron(Lester), Dawn Cahill(Charles); sister, Connie James-Coffey(Doug); along with 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Jonathan, Evan; and 1 great grandchild, Annabelle Rose.

A celebration of Lou’s life will be held on July 2, 2024 from 2-6pm with service to follow at 6pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
