Loretta Holbrook, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, and went home to be with her Heavenly Father. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of the late Theodore Dorsey and Mary Hinkle. Loretta’s life was a beautiful testimony of faith, love, and devotion to family.
Loretta was a woman of quiet strength and deep compassion, whose presence brought comfort to those around her. She carried herself with grace and humility, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her faith guided her daily life and sustained her through every season, and she found great peace in her relationship with the Lord. She was a longtime member of Cabel Baptist Church in Louisville.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her children, Michael Dorsey (Shirl), Sheritta Baker (Larry) and Shirelle Dorsey; her treasured grandchildren, Rarecca Dorsey, Loretta Dorsey, Michael Dorsey, Dominic Dorsey, Briana Bowen (DeAundre), Amir Fletcher, Santana Major, Khala Nelson, Zaharia Campbell, and Larry Dorsey (Briggette); and her dear sister, Shirley Dorsey. Loretta took great pride in her family, and her love for her children. Great Grandchildren:, Zaharia Campbell-Nelson, Brandon Bowen, Carlos Realfor, Rickeya Dorsey.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert “Bob” Holbrook; her parents; and her sisters, Alma Beasley and Gertie Sanders. Though deeply missed, Loretta’s legacy of faith, kindness, and unconditional love will continue to live on through those she touched.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street. Memorial services celebrating her life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family has honored Loretta’s wish for cremation.
