Lonnie Harold Lovings, 83, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Clarksville, Indiana. He was born on July 29, 1942, in Broadhead, Kentucky, to the late John Wesley Lovings and Carrie Jane Adams.
Lonnie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man. He was well known for his strong work ethic and spent many years as a dedicated truck driver, a true workaholic who took pride in providing for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Lovings; his son, David Coomer, Sr. (Marsha); his grandchildren, David Coomer, Jr. (Morgan Futter Coomer), Harold Coomer (Laura), Barbara “Bobbie” Spellman (Troy), and Jessica Anderson (Robbie); ten great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, Gary Sowder, Larry Sowder, Billy Sowder, Wesley Martin, Michael Martin, Tracy Sowder, and Charlotte Armour.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Pauline Sowder, Bernice Sowder, and Dorothy Martin; and his niece, Brenda Elzy.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Legacy Funeral Center – Scott Chapel, located at 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
Lonnie will be remembered for his hard work, dedication to his family, and the life he built through perseverance and love.
