Lois "Rene" Richards

Lois “Rene” Richards, 65, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on January 21, 2022. There will be a visitation held at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 9:00AM – 2:00PM with services to follow beginning at 2:00PM.

Rene was born in New Albany, Indiana, to Frank & Lois Cecil, on November 28, 1956, and was raised alongside one sibling. She went on to have two children of her own, Melissa Wilkerson & Samantha Richards. Rene loved listening to music such as the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elvis, and Prince, and watching TV. She could often be found smoking a cigarette and enjoying a cup of coffee. She had a really big heart for others.

Rene is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Mark Cecil. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Melissa (Kevin) Wilkerson and Samantha (Demetrius) Richards; her grandchildren, Breana Fitzgerald, Nicholas Wilkerson, and Braylin Phelps; her great-grandchild, Jackson Blake; her sister-in-law, Bobbie Jo Cecil; her cousin, Pamela Cunningham; her good friend, Darlene Wright, and her faithful dog companion, Bella, as well as many other family members and friends who will all miss her very much.
