Linda Watson, age 79, of Clarksville, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026. Born in Indianapolis, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Henry Arnold and Edna (Wheat) Hamilton. She spent many years working as a talented seamstress, a craft she carried out with patience, precision, and quiet pride.
Linda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard that came to her every single day for their ration of peanuts and bread! She loved watching classic western films and old shows like Gunsmoke and Tales of Wells Fargo, always singing along to “Lawman!” Linda would often settle in with old favorites that brought her comfort and nostalgia. They reminded Linda of her late husband, Donald, and she would often reminisce of the good old days as she watched the old black and white movies. A kid at heart, Linda also loved watching Disney movies and singing along. But perhaps nowhere did her warmth shine brighter than in her kitchen. A gifted cook, Linda made every holiday a cherished event, pouring her heart into each meal she prepared. Her table was always full—of delicious food, laughter, and love. Above all else, Linda adored her family. She had a remarkable way of making each person feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Her home was a place of welcome and belonging, where memories were made and traditions carried on.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Watson, Sr.; her daughters, Donna Watson & Victoria Salesman; her beloved grandson, Nicholas Watson; and her brothers, Henry Hamilton Jr and Edward R Hamilton.
Linda leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving son, Donnie Ray Watson, Jr. and his wife, Nikkie Watson; her cherished granddaughter, Brooke Salesman; and her devoted feline companion, Susie Q, who never left her side.
Linda’s love, kindness, and the special magic she created for her family will be remembered always.
Funeral Services will be held 2PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Legacy Funeral Center, Scott Chapel (921 Main Street, Jeffersonville). Friends may visit from 11 AM until the service time at 2pm. Burial will follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
