Kenneth Ray Burkhead

Kenneth Ray Burkhead, 79, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY, after a decades-long battle with COPD. He was born on September 26, 1942, in Hardin County, KY. Kenneth was a retired shipping foreman with Thoroughbred Containers and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Reba Perkins Burkhead; his brother, Robert "Bobby" Burkhead; and his parents, Wilbur and Marie Cundiff Burkhead.

Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Diane Carol Wight of Nashville, TN; a son, Darrell Ray Burkhead of Nashville, TN; and two sisters, Susie Burkhead Corder of Elizabethtown, KY, and Laura Jane Bracken of Spartanburg, SC.

Visitation is from 10 AM to 1 PM on December 30, 2021 at Legacy Funeral Center - Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Boulevard, Louisville, KY, 40215. Masks are required. A short graveside service at New Albany National Cemetery, 1943 Ekin Avenue, New Albany, IN, 47150, will follow the visitation.
