Karen D Johnson, 69, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Karen was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Donald and Norma Vetter. She later made Southern Indiana her home, where she dedicated 34 years of service as a dispatcher with the Clarksville Police Department. With a steady voice and a compassionate heart, she provided unwavering support to officers and the community, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and strength.
In retirement, Karen found joy in the little things—immersing herself in true crime documentaries and her favorite show, NCIS, and cherishing time spent with her family. She loved watching Family Feud, Big Brother, and Survivor with her loved ones, filling those moments with laughter and lively conversation. Above all, she will be remembered as a devoted Mom and Nana, whose love knew no bounds.
Karen’s memory will be treasured by her sons, Billie Johnson III (Rebecca) and Jereme Johnson (Sheri); her grandchildren, Halia, Zayne, and Juliana; and her two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Susan and Mark. She now rests in peace with her beloved son, Shawn Johnson; her brother, Kent Vetter; and her infant daughter, Angela, who preceded her in death.
Family and friends are invited to gather in her honor on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street – Jeffersonville. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of her life at 1 p.m. Entombment will take place at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
