Kaden Daniel Shook Obituary

With broken hearts and endless love, we announce the passing of Kaden Shook, who departed this life on July 20, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 24.

Kaden was the kind of person you never forgot. He had a larger-than-life personality, a quick wit, and was a proud smart aleck who always had something to say. His sense of humor was unmatched, and he had a special gift for making people laugh, even during life's darkest moments. No matter what he faced, Kaden chose to remain positive, carrying a light that shined brightly for everyone around him.

Music was one of Kaden's greatest passions, but nothing in this world meant more to him than his mama, his precious daughter, and his family. He loved fiercely and without hesitation. His loyalty ran deep, and once you met him, you quickly learned that if he spoke to you and you didn't answer, he'd simply keep talking until you did. By the end of the conversation, you couldn't help but love him. That was Kaden—persistent, genuine, unforgettable, and full of heart.

Of all the roles he held, being a father was the one he cherished most. His baby daughter, Kehlani Shook, was the light of his life and his greatest source of pride. He was also an incredible son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend whose love and devotion to his family knew no bounds. His goofy personality, infectious smile, and ability to bring joy into any room will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Kaden leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving mother, Beverly Shook; his father, Derek Winston; his beloved daughter, Kehlani Shook; his brothers, Keith Smyzer (Jay), Justin Dunlap, and CJ Dunlap; his sisters, Kristin Downs and De'Ericka Trabue (Dominic); his nephews, Dominic Shook, KJ Smyzer, Kartier Massey, Zion Trabue, and Zyaire Trabue; his niece, Zalayah Trabue; his grandfathers, Daniel Shook and Lee Jackson, the mother of his daughter, Haileyanna Bottom; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends who loved him dearly.

He was welcomed into eternal peace by his older brother, Brendan Shook; his grandmother, Brenda Jackson; and his great-grandfather, Beverly Lee Shook, who undoubtedly greeted him with open arms.

Though Kaden's time with us was far too short, the memories he created will live on forever. His laughter will echo in our hearts, his jokes will be retold for years to come, and his love will continue to surround those who were blessed to know him. He taught us that even when life becomes difficult, there is still room for laughter, love, and hope.

Kaden's legacy is one of unconditional love, unwavering loyalty, resilience, and joy. He will be missed every day but will remain forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
