Judy Richardson Obituary

Judy Lynn Richardson, age 67 of Jeffersonville, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and a spirit that simply could not be contained. Born to the late Francis Marie (Williams) and Robert Kenneth Duncan, Sr., Judy spent her life caring deeply for others—both in her work and in her everyday interactions.

As a longtime Qualified Medication Aide, Judy brought more than just skill to her profession—she brought heart. Her gentle nature, kind smile, and genuine concern for others made her a source of comfort to her patients. Even strangers were drawn to her light, quickly becoming friends in the presence of her warmth.

Judy was gifted with her hands and expressed her creativity through beautiful arts & crafts. She especially loved crocheting intricate dreamcatchers and thoughtful handmade treasures, which she joyfully shared with those she loved. Each piece carried a part of her spirit—carefully made, meaningful, and full of love.

Describing herself as a “gypsy soul,” Judy found peace wherever life took her. She had a deep love for nature, often finding comfort in the sunshine and serenity in the outdoors. Whether tending to her garden or admiring the beauty of blooming flowers, she embraced the simple joys that life offered.  Music was another great love of Judy’s life. She cherished the “oldies but goodies,” jamming as loudly as possible to her favorite songs and encouraging everyone around her to sing and dance along—whether at home or even in the car. Those moments, filled with laughter and music, are memories her family will forever hold dear. She also found enjoyment in watching true crime stories and keeping up with the happenings of the British Royal Family.

Above all, Judy’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving life partner of 19 years, Daniel Maxwell of Jeffersonville; her sons, Walter Anthony Richardson and Gary Daniel Richardson; her brothers, Steven Wayne Duncan, Sr. (Terri Norris) and Robert Kenneth Duncan, Jr. (Teresa Wray); and her beloved grandchildren, Hailey Michelle Richardson, Brooklyn Marie Richardson, and Austin Wayne Powell, with the joyful anticipation of another grandbaby on the way. She also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of nieces & nephews: Aremis J. Hartman, Katie Marie Duncan Gillis (Logan), Steven Wayne Duncan, Jr., Mandy May (Nicholas), Amber Duncan & Autumn Duncan; grandnieces Ariel Ford & Madalynn May; & grandnephew, Linkin Duncan, all of whom she cherished deeply.

Judy’s life was one of love, creativity, and kindness. Her free spirit, generous heart, and joyful presence will be missed beyond measure but remembered always by those fortunate enough to know her.
