Joylynn Hayes Obituary

Joylynn Hayes, 86, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 11, 1939, to Ivan and Berdine Lovett, Joylynn lived a life defined by devotion—to her faith, her family, and the simple, beautiful joys that filled her days.

Above all else, Joylynn cherished her family. She lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking immense pride in each of their accomplishments and milestones. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love—a gathering place where stories were shared, lessons were gently taught, and traditions were lovingly passed down. Her arms were always open, her heart always full.

For 68 wonderful years, she was the beloved and devoted wife of Donald Hayes. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and unwavering commitment. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and steadfast support for one another.

Joylynn expressed her love in many beautiful ways. She loved to cook and took great pride in preparing southern family meals that brought everyone together around her table. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with the comforting aromas of recipes made from memory and seasoned with care. No one ever left her table hungry, and every meal was served with warmth and joy.

She found happiness in life’s quieter pleasures as well. An avid reader, she treasured time spent with a good book. Her skilled hands created lasting keepsakes through knitting and needlepoint, gifts her family will cherish for generations. She also had a deep love for flowers, tending to them with patience and delight, finding beauty in every bloom.

Joylynn’s faith was the foundation of her life. She looked forward with joyful anticipation to meeting her Lord and Savior, Jesus, and to being reunited in heaven with her beloved son and all those who had gone before her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she entered eternal peace surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.

She is survived by her adoring husband, Donald; her daughter, Kathryn Hagan; her daughter-in-law, Terri Hayes; her cherished grandchildren, Justin Hagan (Katie), Michael Hagan (Chaella), Matthew Hagan, Jeffory Alexander Hayes (Allie), Amanda Hart (Josh), and Aaron Hayes; her treasured great-grandchildren, McKenna Hagan, Jeremiah Hart, Andrew Hart, Charlie Hayes, Isaiah Hart, Rylie Hayes, and Jacob Hart; and her sister, Ivanelle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Berdine Lovett, and her beloved son, Jeffory Hayes.

Though her family’s hearts are heavy, they rejoice in the blessing of her long and beautiful life and in the promise of reunion. Her legacy of faith, love, kindness, and devotion will live on in each generation she so deeply cherished.
