Jody Michael Daugherty, 48, of Louisville, Kentucky, unexpectedly passed away on September 12, 2026. He was born on October 6, 1977, to the late Michael Daugherty and Angela Kaufman. Jody proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy.

Jody was a kind, down-to-earth man with a strong personality and an even bigger heart. He loved spending time with his family and making memories with the people closest to him. He especially cherished his three grandchildren, Adalynn, Kaylee Jo, and Destiny. They brought a special kind of happiness into his life, and the love he had for them was undeniable. The memories they made together will be cherished forever.

Jody loved fishing, spending time outdoors, cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys, and enjoying the simple moments with his family. He also shared an unforgettable bond with his beloved dog, Rosco, who was a very special part of his life.

Jody shared a special love story with his wife, Joni, his high school sweetheart. After life took them down different paths, they found their way back to each other and were able to share their lives together. Joni was his wife, best friend, and the love of his life.

He leaves behind his wife, Joni; children, Cody and Morgan; step-daughters, Megan and Emilee; grandchildren, Adalynn, Kaylee Jo, and Destiny; brother, Matt; and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Jody will be remembered for his kind heart, his love of family and grandchildren, fishing, his Dallas Cowboys, his service to his country, and the countless memories he created with those he loved.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. 

A Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM at Legacy Funeral Center – Nunnelley Chapel, 4327 Taylor Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40215 and on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. A Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
