John Daniel Downey

John Daniel Downey, 81, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on February 14, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1943, in Homer, Kentucky, to the late James and Mavis Downey.

John dedicated many years to the automotive field, where his hard work and commitment earned him the respect of his colleagues and peers. He took great pride in his work and was known for his reliability and dedication.

Above all, John cherished time spent with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, whose presence will be greatly missed. Outside of work, John had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed boating, sailing, and fishing, often spending long hours on the water, from dawn to dusk.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his former wife, Cheryl Downey and a brother, Greg Downey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Katherine Downey; sons, Keith Downey(Susan), Brian Downey; grandchildren, Cecilia Rocha, Gabriel Downey.

There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering held on February 22, 2025 from 2-5pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
