John Russell Crumpton, age 78, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky with his sister by his side.
He was born on March 31, 1947, in Louisville to the late Bennett and Esther Crumpton. A proud veteran of the United States Army, John continued his commitment to service as a longtime and devoted member of VFW Post 1832, where he held the honored role of Commander. He was also an active member of the Eagles Club and American Legion Post #35.
John retired from Jeffboat after many years of dedicated service, earning the respect and friendship of countless coworkers throughout his career.
Known for his love of gardening and flowers. John found joy in the simple pleasures of tending to his plants and being outdoors. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends—sharing stories, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Ann Crumpton; daughter, Lisa Crumpton, nephew, Chris Tevis; niece, Samantha Kuhn; brother in law, Charles Tevis.
He is survived by his son, Travis Crumpton; sisters, Judith ( Crumpton) Raatz(Chris), Joyce Tevis; nieces, Christina Cowan(Brian), Laura (Eaden) Elliott(Daniel), Amanda Tevis, Debbie Eaden Kirkpatrick, Becky Raatz(Steve); nephews, Sean Patrick Eadens, Tony Tevis; along with several great nieces, nephews and many friends.
There will be a visitation held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 10-3pm with service to follow at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main St, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
